Spaceways
(excerpt)
It is a 16 mm film, directed by Edward English and "made with Sun Ra."
Release date is unknown (Around 1980).

Last year, ESP-Disk re-released The Heliocentric Worlds of Sun Ra's 3 volumes in one beautiful package. Though I don't notice any sonic differences between the previous releases and this one, I was excited to find that the CDs in this edition are enhanced with bonus material. Each enhanced disc in the set contains archival photos, critical writings and historical videos including the 18 minute documentary Sun Ra “Spaceways”.

I bought this box set few days ago and I'm very happy with it. Haven't seen the video yet but bonus material is nice addition. Too bad there are no liner notes like on Evidence releases....
ReplyDeleteLast night I ordered "Complete Helsinki Concert" and "Paris Tapes".... Can't wait!!!!
Two FANTASTIC albums! I just know you're gonna love them both. The Helsinki Concert is at least as good as the Delft show and there's nothing else like The Paris Tapes.
ReplyDeleteI agree absolutely - they are both from the great Europe fall '71 tour and very fantastic! Happy listening Duxiland..
ReplyDeleteI have an mp3 version of part of the slightly earlier Oct. 12, 1971 show in Stockholm. Does anyone have it in flac? If not I could post it in Solar Flares.
I've wanted to hear the Stockholm show for some time. I would LOVE for you to post it in Solar Flare, nikos! Thank you in advance!!!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has this show in FLAC and would care to share, that would be wonderful, too!
Anyone got a recording of the show in London at the Venue Victoria in 1980/81 (can't remember exactly, there were three shows on consecutive nights) that they are prepared to share? It was the first time I saw the Arkestra and it just blew me away.
