  6. Bravo. Much mo' beta. I’ve been reading about these records for years, so it’ll be a real treat to finally get a chance to hear ‘em. Again, many thanks to you and the anonymous one. I'd like to start a thread about Transparency, but so as not to clog up this post, I’ll meet any interested party’s over the Cosmo-Rays section.

  7. Brother Yotte, I would be a deeply happy camper if you could re-up this baby. Not sure how I missed it, but I did. Muchas gracias.

  10. OK, I've stopped hyperventilating long enough to say THANK YOU! I am grateful for this.

  11. Neither of the first two tracks is "Chocolate Avenue." Track #1 has lyrics almost identical to a song later attributed to Charles Brown and then Ray Charles as "Driftin' Blues." This much earlier version obviously has a different title. Still searching...

  12. Hey Gilgodges, you're right! It's been a long time since I've listened to this collection and didn't remember the error. Great way to start things off, eh?

I found the version that is track 2 here. It's on Disc 3 of The Eternal Myth Revealed vol. 1

11-27-48 – In Every Man’s Life – Andrew Tibbs & The Dozier Boys

Now, if you're excited to hear this compilation, here is a link to a 3 CD set compiled years ago by Christopher Eddy. A blog reader sent it to me a couple of weeks ago and gave permission for me to share his links. Enjoy!

    1. Great stuff. I'm a fan of the Arkestra but also like the Delmark recordings from Chicago. What you have here is a great find. Track 14 wouldn't transfer (RS) but all the other gems are intact and great to listen to. Thanks for the post.

    2. Hey Anon,

Glad you're enjoying these tracks! You might try d/ling again or use a different program to extract the rar.

I'm not sure which track 14 you're having trouble with (Very Early or Treasure Hunt Disc 1 / 2, flac or mp3, but if you don't have any success, let me know which track in which format you need and I'll upload that separately for you.
