Sun Ra - Astral Planes and New Moon Beams

Sun Ra and the Intergalactic Jetset Bible Belt Smasher Omniverse Infinity Arkestra - now how's THAT for a provocative name!  I was hoping to hear this band when I ordered "Live in Atlanta 1984 - Astral Planes and New Moon Beams" but instead was treated to an Arkestra performance from the Atlanta Jazz Festival of 1989.   The album opens with an excerpt of the show's spirited opening improv followed by "Discipline 27-II" and Ra's space songs of promise, "This World is Not My Home" and "I'll Wait for You."  The balance of the LP showcases a couple of standards and two Disney crowd pleasers.

No personnel information on the cover. Though it's announced as 1984, the date is actually june 14th. 1989. Recorded at the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Grant Park (Thanks to Chris Hilling for the info)
